Dozens of Licensed Practical Nurses from the Illinois Nurses Association went on strike November 15 against Chicago’s University of Illinois Hospital to demand that management bargain in good faith for a decent contract.

The strike was suspended on November 19 after the health system CEO, Michael Zenn, agreed to participate in discussion over better wages and working conditions. Contract negotiations were expected to continue after Thanksgiving.
