Tribute to Fred Hampton and Mark Clark Held at African American History Museum

These photographs were taken on Sat. Dec. 7, 2019 at a tribute to Black Panther Party Illinois Chapter leaders Fred Hampton and Mark Clark. The event was held at the Dr. Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History located in the Midtown District of Detroit. The keynote speakers were Akua Njeri and Fred Hampton, Jr. of Chicago.

The documentary film entitled “The Murder of Fred Hampton”, released in 1971, was screened. Fred Hampton and Mark Clark were killed by Chicago police in a federal government engineered assassination conspiracy during the early morning hours of Dec. 4, 1969 at a Panther residence on Monroe avenue.
