Justice for Victims of Racist Attacks in Warren!

By Fighting Words Detroit Staff

There was another rally and march in Warren, Michigan, a large suburb on the border with the city of Detroit, on Saturday October 3, where a series of racially-motivated attacks have occurred over a period of weeks.

One suspect has been arrested after an African American family had their home and vehicle vandalized with slashed tires and the firing of six gunshots through the front window.

The suspect, a white male living in the same neighborhood, has confessed to the crimes and is asking for forgiveness. He is being charged under the state’s ethnic intimidation laws since the impacted family had a Black Lives Matter sign in the window.

Detroit Will Breathe (DWB) organizers are demanding attempted murder indictments in the case. Although no one was injured in the shooting and damage to the homes, the intent was to inflict terror and bodily harm.

DWB and the South Warren Alliance of Radical Movement (SWARM) led the rally and march beginning in Wiegand Park which moved through business and residential areas of the city.
