From Detroit to Palestine Occupation is a Crime!

Thousands more people took to the streets for the second straight day in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb right across the southwest border with Detroit on Sun. May 16, 2021.

The rally and march was held in solidarity with the escalating struggle of the Palestinian people for justice and liberation, sparked by the recent violent removal of several Palestinian families from their homes by Israeli settlers and cops in East Jerusalem, as well as ther attack by Israeli police on thousands of worshipers at the al-Aqsa Mospque on May 10th.

Several organizations sponsored the gathering including New Generation for Palestine (NGP), Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Wayne State University, the Arab American News, among others.

United States Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib of the 13th District addressed the crowd on the need for applying pressure on the current administration of President Joe Biden who has maintained the same pro-Israel position held by Washington since 1948.

This weekend represented the 73rd anniversary of al-Nakba when at least 700, 000 Palestinians were driven from their homes.
