Joining thousands of others across the United States, women and their allies rallied and marched through downtown Detroit on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

The protests were in response to the leaking earlier in the week of a draft ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court which would overturn Roe v. Wade.

The right to reproductive freedom for women was decided in this landmark decision of 1973.

Today the majority of the Supreme Court are conservatives seeking to reverse the gains made by women since the 1970s.

Activists announced another demonstration in one week on May 14 beginning at 1:00pm outside the Federal Courthouse on W. Lafayette Street in downtown Detroit..
