The Black Lives Matter Across 8 Mile march, car caravan and rally took place on Sat. June 27, 2020.
This event featured activists directly impacted by police brutality and murder. The rally was chaired by Wanda Olugbala while other speakers included Yvonne Jones, Joyce Sole, Jennine Spencer, among others.
Kenya Fentress was a motivator and organizer of the events. Sarah Torres coordinated the cultural program after the march and car caravan reached 8 Mile and Woodward.
Traffic was affected for more than an hour on 8 Mile.
The Moratorium NOW! Coalition, Michigan Liberation, the National Lawyers Guild, Triumph Church and other organizations contributed immensely to the event.
