On Fri. Nov. 13, 2020 there was an evening rally and demonstration called by Detroit Will Breathe to reissue the demand for the removal of Detroit Police Chief James Craig.
This action took place in the aftermath of local news reports pointing to the disparity in treatment of supporters of the Trump campaign, who sought to disrupt vote counting at the TCF Center, in contrast to the more than 400 people arrested during the summer for their involvement in demonstrations against police brutality and racism.
In addition to the unwarranted arrests of activists, many people were injured due to police use of brutal force. Civil litigation is pending in federal district court related to the brutality unleashed by the Dugganite regime in Detroit.
Local police were served with a temporary restraining order by a federal judge. Activists from more than 40 community-based organizations have joined the campaign to remove Craig who has been praised by the Trump administration and Fox News for his reactionary role in Detroit, an 80% majority African American municipality.
The demonstration began at police headquarters followed by a march through downtown.
