On Monday, October 16, 2023, a demonstration was held at the McNamara Federal Building in Detroit demanding that Senator Gary Peters support the call for a cease fire. The action was organized by the Detroit Jewish community.

There was a rally and march through downtown Detroit on Wednesday evening, October 18, 2023 in solidarity with the people of Palestine amid the IDF siege of Gaza.
Over the last week-and-a-half over 3,700 people have been killed in Gaza due to airstrikes against residential areas, hospitals and civilian convoys.
The rally began at the McNamara Federal Bldg. and continued with a march through downtown to the Joe Louis fist and back.
This demonstration took place alongside similar actions throughout the United States and around the world.
