A Conversation with Mexican activists

On Monday, November 11 the Moratorium Now Coalition hosted a presentation about the recent Mexican elections. Activists Meizhu Lui and Jose Luis Granados Ceja discussed the recent election in Mexico; the trajectory of the Morena Party and current events around judicial appointments and elections.

Speakers:

Meizhu Lui is a hospital food service activist and was lead organizer for the national Closing the Racial Wealth Gap initiative and co-authored “The Color of Wealth: The Story Behind the US Racial Wealth Divide.” Currently she coordinates the Mexico Solidarity Project, which includes a weekly bilingual bulletin, a media project and a Labor Solidarity committee jointly with Labor Notes. Liberation Road is her political home.

Jose Luis Granados Ceja is an anti-imperialist journalist and political analyst based in Mexico City, with 20 years of experience covering social movements, democracy, elections and human rights. He is a staff writer with Venezuelanalysis, covering regional and international issues, and is the host of their podcast. He also writes a monthly column for Mexico Solidarity Project Bulletin. Together with Kurt Hackbarth, he cohosts the Soberania podcast, which provides English language analysis of politics in Mexico.
