NEW YORK, NY, December 3, 2025 — Following the announcement of a protest by Palestinian organization PAL-Awda, Israeli real estate agency CapitIL canceled its Manhattan land sale event scheduled for Tuesday. This event was expected to illegally advertise Palestinian land for sale and promote settlement in violation of international law. Additionally, Israeli organization Nefesh b’ Nefesh (NBN) cancelled a settler recruitment event, which had been posted on Eventbrite for Manhattan this week. Both cancellations came after PAL-Awda announced a rally against CapitIL’s expo in Manhattan, originally set for Tuesday 12/2, as well as outcry from community organizations and New Yorkers resisting organizations complicit in the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by Israeli settlers.
“This series of cancellations speaks to the power of our mobilization,” said a spokesperson from PAL-Awda. “With every principled protest and disruption, we are making … the theft of Palestinian land untenable in our neighborhoods.”
The announcements came less than two weeks after PAL-Awda protested an NBN settler recruitment fair in Manhattan on 11/19, drawing widespread attention to the violations of international law and human rights that were being promoted through NBN’s settler recruitment efforts. The rally was met by Zionist counterprotestors who held blatantly violent signs reading “complete the genocide” and “80,000 wasn’t enough,” referencing the death count of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza; hurled Islamophobic slurs and slogans including “death to Islam”; and shoved, grabbed, and harassed protestors, including Jewish demonstrators.
For years, PAL-Awda and NYC community members have led a campaign to confront Israeli real estate expos, settler recruitment events, and organizations promoting the illegal sale of Palestinian land in New York and New Jersey. These events violate international law by enabling illegal settlement on occupied Palestinian land and contribute to the displacement of indigenous Palestinian communities. NBN and CapitIL’s events come amidst a rapid escalation of illegal settlement building in the West Bank, and a corresponding uptick in violence committed by armed Israeli settlers.
CapitIL and NBN are directly complicit in this process of ethnic cleansing. CapitIL provides North Americans with opportunities to purchase real estate on Palestinian land. Likewise, NBN has worked as a recruiter and logistics provider for the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAI) and the Israeli government to facilitate the settlement of over 80,000 North Americans on Palestinian land, providing material incentives for the expansion of illegal settlement.
PAL-Awda organizers have affirmed that their campaign will continue as long as such events persist in the area. “It is our responsibility to make sure that the expansion of the zionist colonization of Palestine does not go unchallenged, and we will continue to stand up against this violence, even when those in power fail to administer justice,” the PAL-Awda spokesperson stated.
