Detroiters Opposes Threats to Destroy Iran

By Fighting Words Staff

An emergency demonstration on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 was held outside the McNamara Federal Bldg. in downtown Detroit in opposition to the United States and Israeli war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Lebanon and Palestine.

This action was called in response to the threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to destroy the nation of Iran and its thousands-of-years civilization in West Asia.

During these five weeks of unprovoked war, thousands of Iranians and Lebanese have been killed.

In the most recent threats, the administration said it would eliminate Iran as a nation-state.

The U.S. and Israel have killed many officials in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Supreme Leader was assassinated during the first day of the war on Feb. 28 along with several officials.

Many others have been martyred within the government as well as civilians. Key sectors of the economy have been attacked including steel plants, petrochemical facilities and railroad lines.

Several top universities and research centers have also been bombed.

These actions have not broken the will of the Iranian people to resist. They have taken control of the Strait of Hormuz and are allowing only friendly nations access.

Trump and his cohorts are frustrated that the Iranian people and their allies in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and Palestine have remained steadfast.

Although it was announced that some pause in the fighting has been mediated, there are no guarantees since the Trump administration and his zionist allies have proven unreliable.

People in the U.S. and around the world are in solidarity with Tehran and will continue their efforts to end this imperialist-zionist aggression.
