Alternative to Policing Forum Held at WSU Law School

A third in a series of seminars on the character of law enforcement in Detroit and around the United States was held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Wayne State University Law School Auditorium in Detroit.

Speakers at the event included Atty. Julie Hurwitz of the National Lawyers Guild as moderator; Elisheva Johnson of Emergent Justice; Pastor Barry Randolph of Church of the Messiah; Vicki Shah, Community Advocate and Grand River Community Block Club; and Rae Baker, Asst. Professor at the University of Cincinnati. The event was sponsored by the Detroit Coalition for Police Transparency and Accountability (CPTA); the Damon Kieth Center at WSU; and the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights (MCHR).

The panelists put forward views flowing from their community work.
