Hundreds of people took to the streets in a demonstration in Harper Woods, Michigan, a northeastern suburb bordering the city of Detroit, on Wed. July 15, 2020.
The rally and march was held to demand justice for Priscilla Slater, a 37-year-old African American woman who died in the custody of Harper Woods police a month earlier after only 12 hours in custody
Authorities in Harper Woods have provided no explanation as to the circumstances leading to Ms. Slater’s death.
People marched in the streets around East 8 Mile and Harper. The crowd included many family members and friends of Ms. Slater.
