Detroit: Strike for Black Lives Held on July 20

Fight for $15, a labor organization demanding decent wages and the right to a union in the service industries, held a rally and march on Mon. July 20, 2020 as part of a nationwide and global call to leave work in protest against the police and vigilante killings of African Americans.

These participants shown in the photographs gathered at the Belmont Mall located on 8 Mile Road and Dequindre on the eastside of Detroit bordering Warren. There were actions held in 160 areas of the United States.

Since the brutal execution of George Floyd by the Minneapolis police on May 25, demonstrations and rebellions have erupted across the U.S. and the world.
