Millions are set to march for Palestine on March 2nd, in condemnation and protest of the Israeli government’s bombardment of Rafah and its plans for a ground invasion of southern Gaza along the Egyptian border. Early in Israel’s assault on Gaza, government officials encouraged Palestinians to evacuate to the south, but now with possibly more than 1.5 million people in the southernmost point of the country, the Israeli military’s plans to begin targeting this so-called “evacuation zone” reveal their intent to push Palestinians completely out of their country, mercilessly bombing and preparing a major assault on the city without solid plans to avoid civilian casualties.
