On Sunday, February 25, 2024, a rally was held at the Dearborn Manor, located in the suburb on the western border with Detroit, to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Speakers at the gathering included United States Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib; Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud; former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner; Detroit City Councilwoman Gabriela Santiago-Romero; Rev. Robert Smith of New Bethel Baptist Church; Rev. Ed Rowe, Pastor Emeritus of Central United Methodist Church Detroit; Julie Hurwitz of Jewish Voice for Peace and the National Lawyers Guild; and Jay Makled, the Financial Secretary of UAW Local 600.

The meeting was organized by the Michigan Task Force for Palestine, an ad-hoc emergency initiative of the American Arab & Muslim Leadership Council, specifically formed to bring a stop to the genocide and affect an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Hundreds of people attended.

The event was a continuation of almost daily actions in support of a ceasefire and the liberation of Palestine.
