The Zelensky proxy government in Ukraine and the Western media are finally arriving at a point where they cannot cover up that Ukraine is losing the war with the Russian Federation. Authoritative sources are now admitting that this proxy war is all but lost.

Interviewing the commander of the entire Ukrainian military, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Kyiv Independent on November 2 reported that: “Ukraine [is] facing one of Russia’s ‘most powerful’ offensives since [the] start of all-out war.]” The article admitted “Russia continues to press forward on its offensives across the eastern front…where outnumbered and outgunned Ukrainian soldiers are forced to withdraw little by little.”

This is at a time that Ukraine’s military cannot replace either its depleted and exhausted front-line ranks and is unable to supply enough weapons and ammunition. But the pace of Russian advances is not “little by little.” In fact, Russia is advancing at the most rapid pace since the beginning of its Special Military Operation in February 2022.

This Ukraine-friendly news source also confirmed that: “Russia is escalating its operations in southern Zapoizhzhia” province, advancing toward the capital city of the province with a population of almost three quarters of a million people.

The New York Times has been fully supportive of the U.S. proxy war against Russia. In fact the Times has faithfully printed every false claim by the Ukraine government and the U.S. State Department to cover up Ukraine’s losses, so that public opinion in the West would continue supporting the transfer of tens of billions of dollars’ worth of military aid to Ukraine. But on October 31 the Times had to give an objective report on the dire Ukrainian situation.

The article was titled “Russia’s swift march forward in Ukraine’s east.“ In October, Russia made its largest territorial gains since the summer of 2022, as Ukrainian lines buckled under sustained pressure. Over the past month, Russian forces have seized more than 100 square miles of land in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region…to take control of strategic towns that anchored Ukrainian defenses in the area.”

Territorial conquest comparisons obscure that this is a war of attrition that Ukraine is losing. The Times says of earlier battles that: “Russia’s attacks gradually weakened the Ukrainian army to the point where its troops are so stretched that they can no longer hold some of their positions.” A Finnish military expert admitted “the situation in southeastern Donbas rapidly deteriorates.”

The article also points out the lack of personnel to replace losses and the absence of Ukrainian fortifications beyond the string of fortified towns now taken by Russia’s military. It also admits that the Ukrainian incursion into Russia’s Kursk province starting in early August “has weakened its positions in the Donbas.” While the surprise attack quickly achieved some territorial gains, they were entirely in sparsely populated rural and forested areas. “To make matters worse, Ukraine has weakened its positions in the Donbas by redeploying seasoned units from there to Russia’s Kursk region.”

It concludes quoting the Finnish expert “the overall picture that we have of Ukrainian forces: Reserves are low, too many quality units are stuck in Kursk and Russia has enough force left to exploit any weaknesses in Ukrainian lines.” )

Should these trends continue, as is very likely given the overwhelming advantage of Russia in numbers, weaponry and airpower, the Ukrainian proxy forces may face a total military collapse in the months to come. The U.S., UK and European Union allies who organized the 2014 Maidan coup in Kiev have shown no inclination to allow their puppet regime to negotiate peace with Russia. They seem perfectly satisfied to “fight to the last Ukrainian.” It is also very possible that the Western imperialist states are so invested in keeping this war to weaken Russia going that they may dangerously escalate the conflict with some reckless actions.
