A group of Detroiters gathered outside city hall in Detroit on June 10 to protest Donald Trump’s Executive Order 14288 which calls for putting troops onto the streets across the U.S.

The Anti-Fascist Organizing Coalition had previously lobbied City Council members to go on record against the racist and fascist character of the Executive Order. Trump’s sending National Guard troops and Marines into Los Angeles, against the wishes of the mayor of LA and California’s governor, prompted the organization to speak to Council directly during the public comment period on June 10.

Protesters raised the main demands of “No Troops on Our Streets” and “No Martial Law” both on the street and, later, before City Council.
