International No War on Cuba Campaign

Coordinated actions at the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel

By Fighting Words Staff

Internationally demonstrations, initiated by the National Network on Cuba (NNOC), were held around the world on June 3, 2026 demanding “No War on Cuba”.  In the Detroit, Michigan/Windsor, Ontario area, coordinated demonstration were held at the Windsor – Detroit Tunnel.

The NNOC noted:

The No War on Cuba campaign is a global movement to stop U.S. military aggression against Cuba. We are building a coordinated worldwide network to act together quickly when Cuba is threatened through shared resources, coordinated communications, and alignment with a common plan that puts unity into action.

Our demands include:

  • An end to all military escalation against Cuba
  • The removal of Cuba from the United States State Sponsors of Terrorism list
  • An end to the economic blockade
  • The return of Guantánamo Bay to the Cuban people
  • And normalized relations between the United States and Cuba.

We also demand an end to military and financial support for the United States war machine anywhere in the world.

Fidel Castro taught us that revolution is a collective process of transformation rather than a one time military victory or an individual act of heroism. Its success depends on organized people taking collective and strategic action to change what needs changing in their society and in themselves. Today the United States war machine is trying to starve and stomp Cuba into submission, but the spirit of Fidel lives in every Cuban. The revolutionary Cuban people and their project survive and they defend themselves.

The lesson for our movements is clear: only organized masses of people unified by a shared strategy for collective action can make history, and only together can we end the United States war on Cuba and on working people around the world. We are raising the call to build connection, to move collectively, and to practice unity in action.

The National Network on Cuba is calling for an International Day of Action against the United States war on Cuba on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. This date marks five months since the United States invasion of Venezuela, which killed one hundred people including thirty two brave Cubans and led to the kidnapping of democratically elected President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores. June 3 also falls on the ninety-fifth birthday of Cuban revolutionary hero, Raúl Castro Ruz.

We are also organizing an International Week of Action from Sunday, June 28 through Saturday, July 4, 2026, and on July 4 while the United States celebrates its own independence we will expose the hypocrisy of a nation that denies Cuba’s. As the United States escalates the blockade, weaponizes fuel access, maintains Cuba on the State Sponsors of Terrorism list, and threatens violent overthrow of the Cuban government, we respond with the same steadfastness, the same dignity, and the same refusal to accept injustice that Fidel embodied for over half a century.
